World Book Day - we are celebrating WBD with the children at the nursery.
In order to make it a special day, the children can come in to nursery with the PJ's on and bring in their favourite book.
There will be lots of reading activities going on in the nursery on the day.
I will take photos of the children during the day and put them in our gallery under the Children tab on this website.
I'm sure this will be a wonderful day for the children, and, we would like to encourage all parents and carers to try and read to their children every day. This not only bonds you with the child but the child will learn from these precious moments the joy of reading books.
FRIDAY 17TH NOVEMBER 2023 - CHILDREN IN NEED DAY - all the children can come in wearing anything spotty, dotty or Pudsey related. We will have staff on the doors at drop off and pick up times with buckets for any donations you would like to make.
THURSDAY 30TH NOVEMBER 2023 - PARENTS CHRISTMAS ACTIVITY DAY - parents must attend with your children at their usual session times and their will be lots of exciting activities for you and your child to make Christmas related items for you to keep and treasure.
WEDNESDAY 6TH DECEMBER 2023 - SPONSORED SANTA DASH - We will shortly be giving out sponsor sheets to you to get as many sponsors as you can. The children can come dressed up in Christmas clothes/Santa suits/Christmas hats etc. We will be doing the Santa Dash as part of the usual sessions for the children so parents do not attend this event. We will of course put photographs of the Santa Dash on the website for you to see.
WEDNESDAY 13TH DECEMBER 2023 - RED ROOM SING A LONG - This will take place via ZOOM. We will send a link out to you via our ParentApp (please ensure you have downloaded the ParentApp prior to 13.12.23, if you need any help with this please let me know as soon as possible as we will not be able to do it on the day) There will be 2 sessions on ZOOM, one for the morning session children and one for the afternoon session children.
THURSDAY 14TH DECEMBER 2023 - GREEN ROOM SING A LONG - Come and watch your child as they sing along to Christmas songs they will have been rehearsing for some time in their nursery sessions! ALL children will need to attend the morning session at 8.45am, Parents/Carers will be admitted to the nursery at 9am to watch the Christmas Concert.
THURSDAY 21ST DECEMBER 2023 - BREAKFAST WITH SANTA - ALL children will need to attend the morning session at 8.45am. We will be putting on a breakfast for the children consisting of cereals, drinks, cakes and sweets. We will be doing dancing and singing, and, there will of course be a visit from Santa himself who will have a little gift for all the children. Please pick your children up at 11.30am.
FRIDAY 22ND DECEMEBR 2023 - NURSERY FINISHES FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS - ALL children can attend the morning session starting at 8.45am as we will be finishing at 11.45am on this day.
PLEASE NOTE - if your child attends full days, they can stay for the afternoon sessions (NOT FRIDAY 22ND DECEMBER) please inform staff as soon as possible if you wish for your child to stay for the afternoon sessions on 13th/14th & 21st December 2023.
This is a most special time of the year for all the children (and the adults too!) and we hope you have a lovely time during all the activities above.
Hi to all our Parents and Carers
There is a strong possibility that the nursery may have to close on the 5th and 7th July 2023 due to industrial action.
Whilst this is not yet confirmed, but, highly likely, we felt we should inform you of this in order that you can arrange alternative childcare in case of need.
Once we have definite news on this we will inform you accordingly.

Photographs of the children enjoying the King's Coronation party are now in the gallery for you to view.
Whilst it was a little be windy, the sun kept shining and the children had an absolutely fantastic time.
All the children looked great in their red white and blue outfits and this is a day to remember for them all.
We will be having a Coronation party at Greenacres on Thursday 4th May 2023.
Children who usually attend on Thursday's morning sessions should arrive at their usual time of 8:45 but to be picked up after the party at 12:30pm
Children who usually attend on Thursday's afternoon sessions should arrive at 11:45am and be picked up at 2:45pm.
Children who do not usually attend Nursery on Thursdays', can come in for a morning or afternoon session.
If your child is coming in on Thursday 4th May 2023 that does not usually attend on Thursdays', please inform the staff as soon as possible.
We will be proving all the decorations, food and drink for the party, but would welcome any donations of cakes, crisps, biscuits and drinks. If you are able to donate
any of these items may I request that they are given in to the nursery before midday on Wednesday 3rd May so we can see what we need to buy for the party.

Thursday 4th may 2023 - Coronation party for the children at Greenacre Nursery
Monday 8th May 2023 - nursery closed for bank holiday
With effect from 1st May 2023.
Any nursery sessions not covered by government funding will increase by 10%.
The fees for nursery sessions at Greenacre have not risen for many years.
Due to the rising costs associated with the provision of the nursery we have had no alternative other than to bring in this increase.

On Monday 20th March 2023 we took delivery of 5 duck eggs together with a hatching kit.
We came in on Tuesday morning and 3 of the eggs had hatched overnight!
As you can imagine not only were the children all excited to see the ducklings but the staff were too!!......too cute for words (the ducklings...not the staff!!).
Most of the children all had a turn to go and see the ducklings in the incubator before they hatched and some of the children who were in nursery the rest of the week, some were able to hold a duckling and watch them have a little roam around our library area.
It was such a delight for the staff to see the children's faces light up when they saw the ducklings.

On Thursday 2nd March 2023 we celebrated WORLD BOOK DAY.
The children had a fantastic day all dressed up in their costumes and PJ's and learning all about the different books that the children brought in.
The children had plenty of stories read to them and were enjoying playing and doing the actions of the character they had dressed up as.
