The Governors and staff at this school are committed to the provision of care, education and welfare of the highest quality for the children of its community. There is a strong belief in a child centred approach to learning, encompassing play and first hand experiences, and encouraging children to become independent and self-motivated learners. The development of oral language is given high priority, in recognition of its crucial role in early learning.
Great emphasis is placed on relationships at all levels; in particular the school values the role of the family as central to the success of the care and education process. A welcoming, secure and positive ethos is considered essential in maximising children’s potential; what children can do is always the starting point in their learning.
